We have a fabulous visit to Vietnam that needs to go from the top of your 'bucket' list straight to the 'all aboard' list! We start with a flight from Seattle to Old Saigon, now known as Ho Chi Minh City. Spend three nights in the city and begin with a tour of all of its famous sights including the wartime American Embassy, Reunification Palace, and French colonial structures including the Notre Dame Cathedral and the Old Saigon Post Office. We then travel to the Mekong Delta to explore the Cai Be floating market, and canals of Vinh Long by motorboat. Visit the Cao Dai Temple and learn of this colorful religion-a mix of Confucianism, Taoism, and Buddhism. See the amazing Chu Chi tunnels that were the secret base of the Vietcong. Later, we fly to Da Nang on our way to the charming town of Hoi An. Overnight in this old trade center town with it's mix of Chinese, Japanese, and French contibutions to Vietnamese culture and beautiful architecture.Travel to Hue by motorcoach with stops at Marble Mountain for stalactite and stalagmite caves, and the Cham Museum to experience Hindu culture. In Hue we learn of the last King Dynasty and explore the old Citadel and other sites before a cruise on the Perfume River. This evening, board our VIP overnight train to Hanoi. Explore this amazing city with a tour of all major sights including the 'Hanoi Hilton'. After an overnight in Hanoi, we head to the sea for a fantastic cruise of Ha Long Bay on a deluxe Chinese junk. Ha Long Bay is littered with 3000 limestone karst islands and formations. We will be pampered on our overnight cruise as we enjoy the most spectacular scenery in all of Vietnam. Return to Hanoi for a free evening and morning until our flight home.
